We are sitting in our cool house, it’s 83 outside and a comfortable 78 inside. It’s really only the second time we’ve used our new air conditioner. We haven’t seen any electricity bill yet.

After living in the same home for over fifty years, we decided we deserved AC. It seemed like four estimates might be good. Two were recommendations from our kids and one from my cousin in the valley and finally yours from a friend from church who chose YB over twenty years ago.

All four came to look at our job, but only one besides YB gave us a written estimate.

The first wanted to run the refrigerant lines across the ceiling of our garage and only glanced at our existing furnace. He was only here short while. His estimate showed a five-ton unit and was several thousand dollars higher than YB.

The second was here just a short while also, but even after several phone calls never sent an estimate or even called back.

The third insisted an additional wire would have to be added to my thermostat. I had looked into to using a common thermostat solution using the fan only wire to control the AC. When I asked him about that, he couldn’t understand what I was talking about. He made several calls to his installer with questions that couldn’t seem to be answered. He called a couple of days later to say as they were in North Hollywood and our job was too far away.

Finally, your estimator (I’ve forgotten his name). He was very thorough, he looked closely at our furnace and saw it would only support a four-ton unit which he determined would work nicely in our 2200 sq.ft. house. He removed two vent covers and discovered the refrigerant lines could easily be run through the “chase” wall in the rear of the garage and to the outside if the dryer vent was moved slightly. He also knew about using the fan wire in the thermostat to control the AC. This was very good news. I asked if there was anything complex about the job and he said no. Your estimate was reasonable and also included a pump installed near the furnace to drain the condensation.

The installation took about a day and a half, even with having to bring the condenser through the house. They even put drop cloths to protect the rug. The dryer vent was moved very neatly and the refrigerant lines covered with a plastic case.

Both my wife and I are very happy with the job you did and would certainly recommend Yantzer Brothers to anyone living without AC for as long as we have.
